What does "OK compost Home" mean?
Green Intlpak was certified by OK compost home in November. Owing to the comparatively smaller volume of waste involved, the temperature in a garden compost heap is clearly lower and less constant than in an industrial composting environment. This is why composting in the garden is a more difficult, slower-paced process.
Composting is more difficult due to the lower and less constant temperature compared to an industrial composting facility. Home composting therefore takes a lot longer which means Green Intlpak’s product is really biodegradable. compostable and environmentally friendly.
It is a certification that guarantees that a packaging or product is 100% compostable. This means that its degradation process will be natural and fast, compared to polluting materials. Therefore, such biodegradation will be friendly to the planet and will help to combat environmental issues.
OK compost HOME is a compostability seal from Vincotte which identifies a bioplastic or biodegradable product as being compostable in a non-industrial home compost facility. A product fulfilling the OK compost HOME requirements is regarded as having fulfilled the OK compost requirements under EN 13432 / 14995.
